Tools with igoogle

igoogle has some amazing tools that I recently just learned how to use. These tools will be very useful to me as a teacher, so I can organize my schedule, documents, have a list of my favorite sites, access to google talk which I could use with parents, and much more.

The great thing about it is that it is all on one page and you can access it from any computer. Google Docs is great because instead of using a jump drive I can create and save all my documents to Google Docs, then I have access to it on any computer. I would also be able to send it to colleagues or friends to get there opinion on Lesson Plans.

If I have a class blog then I would be able to upload the schedule using google calendars and I could also have a link to the Class Newsletter. So to reiterate my point, these tools would be very useful organizational tools as a teacher and make life easier for communication between my colleagues and communication with the parents of my students.

My Goals

My goals this semester regarding technology:

1. To know how to effectively communicate with Parents using Technology
2. To be familiar with several programs and ways of incorporating Media into my lesson plans

Technology in Education

My belief about technology in Education is that it enhances children's learning, especially in this rapidly changing world. Children are already using technology so much in their daily lives. So why not use that same technology to aid in teaching curriculum and about the world around them. It will help capture their attention and open their mind to learning in a fun and familiar way.
